Full Speed Ahead

img_3317Phillip and I have been in incredibly high spirits lately. A few weeks ago, we started changing our view of our situation. We started taking stock of what was important to us, and what wasn’t. Basically, we shifted our mood from feeling in many ways from burdened to blessed. The moment that shift turned, we started seeing amazing things happen in our optimism. Rather knitting and crocheting to get ourselves out of debt, or to simply pay the bills and put food on the table, we started thinking of our craft as a means to get ahead. We work constantly, from the time we wake to the time we sleep, and we would probably keep going if it weren’t for need of sleep 🙂 And we noticed that we smiled more, worked better, harder, smarter, than grinding away on a wheel that just spun and spun. I am happy to say that we are about $400 away from being out of debt, having worked it off tirelessly over the last 3 months (we weren’t supposed to have it paid off for another year). We cut back our already meager expenses, which we found more ways to save money, spend less. We haven’t had the air conditioner on in almost 6 months. Our landlord gave us a screen door, and now not only do we have a TON more sunlight in our apartment (sunlight is very important to me), but we have this wonderful breeze that swirls happy through. We set up a little garden area by our front door with crowns of thorns and succulents, all of whom started as one little plant, but we kept clipping those little plants until now we have about 10! It certainly is a nice place to sit in the morning with your coffee and knit.

It used to feel like saving money for ourselves was a long haul off, where all of what we made stayed in the hands of bills, we are so close to being able to keep some funds for ourselves, allowing to grow and protect us.

Phillip has new Strange Friends in our shop and I have a new little teddy bear, all ready to ship, if you’d like to take a look.

It’s a beautiful morning here. Hope it’s the same where you are. 🙂 Have a wonderful WONDERFUL day.
