I Guess I’m Going Live!

If you recall in my previous post, I was selling my patterns and a few custom bears to make the funds to buy more supplies. I tossed the idea to the world that if I sold enough of my patterns, maybe we could do a knit-a-long.

I guess I’m going live!

Now, I could probably google quickly “how to host a knit_a-long,” or “KAL” as the kids call it. But, I would just be watching standards, or how other people tend to do things. I usually enjoy doing things differently than others. ๐Ÿ™‚ So, I thought I’d ask all of YOU how to do a virtual knit along.

Do I just turn on facebook live and then have you watch me knit up a teddy bear? Do I do them in sessions over the course of a few weeks or days? Obviously, we’re doing a teddy bear. But, I can knit one in five hours because I’ve done nearly four thousand of them, will people be able to keep up?

Are we gonna chit chat back and forth or am I the only one you’re going to be able to see and hear? I have SO many questions, but I’m looking forward to trying this out. My pattern is on sale for $2 in my shop, and I’m really hoping to get quite a few people to knit along making teddy bears. Heck! Maybe we could set a world record for the number of people knitting teddy bears in one day, knitting comfort for a world that is in desperate of a teddy bear. The whole dang planet could use a teddy bear right now.

I’ve already sold 15 copies, hoping we can get a bigger crowd to something that is likely going to be a mix of hilarity and fun the minute I turn that camera live. Oh! Do I use my phone? Or my laptop? Help!

You can purchase the pattern here and hopefully we’ll be ready to go this weekend! ย In the meantime, this little guy is in my shop, ready to find a home ๐Ÿ™‚

If you appreciate my work and would like for this blog to continue, please donate to help keep it going. Every single dollar helps and I wouldnโ€™t have the courage do it without your support.

  1. Wheee! So want to knit along. Used to do this to the Phillip & Gregory show anyway and drop stitches while laughing.

  2. Hey love the idea ๐Ÿ’ก ๐Ÿ’•, I just like your whole story and enjoy following you ๐Ÿ˜Š, I believe that i first saw it in a knitting group that shared the Starbucks and a man knitting a teddy bear ๐Ÿงธ thing, if I remember correctly. Anyways I have some yarn that was donated to my in my stash that I’m not going to use and I would be happy ๐Ÿ™‚ to pass it along to you.

    Happy ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿฅข

  3. I have the pattern sitting next to my computer & a bag of Cascade 220 in a teddy bear brown all ready to go!

  4. I purchased your teddy bear pattern and the tiger pattern some time ago. I’ve knit several bears as baby gifts but would love to do a KAL and learn from the pattern designer himself! As to how best to accomplish the KAL, I have no suggestions – I’m totally a computer newbie.
